Introduction
The V94 degausser is the entry-level model of the VS Security Products tape degausser range. Because of the attractive price and the support of commonly used magnetic media, the V94 is ideally suited for the efficient erasure of limited quantities of magnetic tapes and cassettes.
The V94 degausser works with an internal coil magnet that generates a strong, continuous magnetic field. The magnetic field is oriented so that its strength is maximal just above the surface of the V94 degausser. Tapes and floppy disks are professionally erased by moving them over the top of the degausser through the magnetic field. This resets the polarity of the metal particles and deletes the previously recorded signal completely.
The electromagnet with a magnetic force of 2,800 Gauss clears data, video and audio tapes quickly and easily. The V94 can always be used for 10-15 minutes after which the unit automatically switches itself off to temporarily cool down. With this, the V94 has an erasure capacity of about 180 tapes/cassettes per hour.
The VS Security Products V94 degausser, among others, managed S-VHS, VHS, DAT, DLT and Mini DV. An overview of all media supported by the V94 is listed in the technical specifications.
