The BOW Industries MHDD-N hard drive Destroyer is a manually operated mechanical Crusher. The BOW MHDD-N has been specially developed for the quick and easy physical destruction of hard disk drives. The MHDD-N Destroyer is NSA/CSS Approved and is on the NSA Evaluated Products List for Hard Drive Destroyers. After a hard disk drive has been erased with a degausser, it can be bent with the MHDD-N Destroyer so that the disk is visually verifiable damaged. The combination of erasing (degaussing) and physically damaging hard drives offers the maximum certainty that defective or replaced hard disk drives no longer contain data and can no longer be accessed.

The BOW MHDD-N does not need electricity for destroying hard drives. The MHDD-N Destroyer operates entirely manually via a rotary handle. To destroy a hard drive, it is placed in the MHDD-N, after which the handle has to be turned around eight times. The hard disk is bent at a 90-degree angle within 8 seconds. As a result, the platters, reading head, motor and electronics of the hard disk drive are irreparably damaged.

The operation of the BOW HMDD-N requires little power. To crush a standard 3.5" hard drive, only 1.8 kg of pressure is required. The BOW MHDD-N can be operated by practically every user. The BOW MHDD-N is suitable for all 3.5" hard disk drives including 0.65", 1" and 1.65" high drives. 2.5" hard disk drives can also be destroyed with the optional Laptop Option (LTH).

The compact dimensions of the MHDD-N and the optional transport case allow hard disk drives to be destroyed at any desired location.
