The performance of the SV5000 automatic degausser from VS Security Products will
satisfy requirements for volume erasure of high-density metal tapes and
cassettes. Automatically controlled by an electric eye, the reels, disks or
cassettes are placed onto the wide conveyor belt where they are transported
through the 4,000 Gauss field.
Up to five thousand diskettes or five hundred cassettes or cartridges can be
erased per hour. The SV5000 has been specifically designed to meet exacting
performance criteria demanded and expected by security operations requiring
safe, effective and secure
management of their magnetic media. The SV5000 has an erase level in excess of
-75dB for 1,500 oe media and -90dB for 750 oe media. The conveyor system eraser
provides an economical, fast and efficient method of erasing all forms of
magnetic media.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has approved the SV5000 Degausser
for security erasure applications. In addition to its NATO approval, the SV5000
has been approved by the UK government and meets specified requirements of SEAP
(Security Equipment Assessment Panel) and the newer CESG standard for restricted
or less for the secure erasure and destruction of information and data stored on
magnetic media up to TOP SECRET level.
With safety in mind and to meet the latest ICNIRP Magnetic Exposure Guidelines,
the SV5000 can be operated remotely via the infrared remote control. The unit
can also be locked in the manual or remote operation position by removing the
key, preventing possible misuse.
