The TS-1XT-e from Garner Products is an "NSA Evaluated" degausser for erasing hard disk drives and tapes. Information on hard disk drives and tapes can be removed effectively and easily tith the TS-1XT-e degausser. Media is placed in the TS-1XT-e drawer at the front of the unit. With the press of a button the degauss cycle of only 15 seconds is started; the degausser charges itself and then sends a short, powerful electromagnetic pulse of 20,000 gauss through the data carrier. This allows hard drives up to 5,000 Oersted to be erased.

In addition to erasing hard drives, the Garner TS-1XT-e degausser is also suitable for erasing various magnetic tapes such as DLT, LTO, 9940, 3590, AIT, 8mm and more. A "pulse" degausser does not use magnetic coils to generate a continuous magnetic field. This means that the system does not have to be cooled and can be used continuously.

To ensure that information on hard disks and tapes is effectively removed, the Garner TS-1XT-e has a number of built-in security measures; the degausser checks the stored power for each cycle. A built-in Gauss sensor also measures the magnetic field of each discharge. Any faults are shown via the LCD display. This ensures correct operation of the degausser.

The Garner TS-1XT-e degausser comes standard with the SCAN-1Xe Media Destruction Report Package. This kit consists of log software and a barcode scanner. Using the log software extensive information about each degauss cycle can be stored for auditing or reporting purposes. The Garner TS-1XT-e must be connected to a PC via an USB cable.

The Garner TS-1XT-e can optionally be supplied with a mobile transport case. This allows the system to be safely and easily transported to degauss hard disk drives and tapes on location. Optionally, the Garner TS-1XT-e degausser is also available with the IRONCLAD Erasure Verification system.
